We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trade Assistant to support our maintenance team in servicing, repairing, and preparing equipment for deployment. This is an excellent opportunity to build your skills while working alongside experienced mechanics and marine industry professionals.
About the Role
Reporting to the Leading Hand and Service Manager, you will assist with workshop and field maintenance activities, equipment preparation, and general operational support.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with machinery, tools, and equipment and is looking to develop a long-term career in the mechanical or marine industries.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Mechanics and Leading Hands with servicing, maintenance, and repairs.
Support the inspection and preparation of generators, compressors, oxygen generators, pumps, and associated equipment.
Assist with equipment mobilisation and demobilisation activities.
Clean, maintain, and organise workshop facilities, tools, and equipment.
Load and unload equipment, parts, and consumables.
Assist with fault finding, component replacement, and routine maintenance tasks.
Complete basic maintenance activities under supervision.
Support stock control and inventory management.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.

Desirable Skills & Experience
Previous experience as a Trade Assistant, Labourer, Yard Hand, or Mechanical Assistant.
Experience working around diesel engines, generators, pumps, compressors, or industrial equipment.
Forklift Licence (or willingness to obtain).
Dogging, Rigging, or Working at Heights tickets highly regarded.
Marine, aquaculture, construction, mining, or industrial experience advantageous.
Requirements
Current Driver's Licence.
Ability to perform physically demanding work.
Ability to travel to project sites and marine facilities when required.
Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
