About The Role
The Field Manager – Apprenticeships plays a key role in shaping the next generation of automotive talent across Tasmania.
You’ll manage and grow apprentice relationships across Tasmania while building strong partnerships with host employers and key industry stakeholders.
You will support apprentices and trainees throughout their journey, working closely with employers, schools, and training providers to drive engagement, retention, and successful outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
Build strong, trusted relationships with apprentices, host employers, schools, and training providers.
Drive growth in apprentice numbers through networking, employer engagement, and recruitment initiatives.
Develop rapport and trust with apprentices and host employers, proactively addressing workplace, learning, or personal challenges that may impact successful outcomes.
Promote TACC Auto Apprenticeships Group Training services to host employers.
Collaborate with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to ensure apprentices receive appropriate training support and guidance.
Identify and recruit new apprentices, including conducting pre-assessment testing and coordinating placements.
Monitor apprentice performance and training progress, ensuring competency completion in line with training contract requirements.
Provide ongoing mentoring and support throughout the apprenticeship journey.
Manage WorkCover claims, illness-related absences, and return-to-work processes as required.
About You
You need to be a people person with emotional intelligence and either hold an Australian automotive trade qualification or come from an allied industry with supervisory or training experience.
You are a clear communicator with a passion for helping businesses and apprentices succeed while building relationships through trust and respect. You'll need to be self-motivated, level-headed, highly organised, and enjoy achieving key performance indicators.
Ideally based in Hobart, there will be a requirement for the successful candidate to travel across the state.
A current valid driver license, a Working with Children Card, and the right to work in Australia are essential. A Cert IV OHS or higher qualification is desirable.
