Established in 2026, BlastTech is a subset of the Hazell Bros Group, providing blasting services to Quarries and civil construction projects across Tasmania.

The ROLE

As a Shotfirer with BlastTech, you will be at the centre of delivering high‑quality, safe, and reliable blasting operations across various quarry sites throughout Tasmania. This is a key role for a skilled professional who takes pride in precision, safety, continuous improvement and customer relations.

Reporting directly to the BlastTech State Manager, you will work closely with site leadership teams to plan, prepare, and execute blasts to the highest standards, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, site safety systems, and BlastTech best practice.

This hands‑on role offers autonomy, variety, flexible working arrangements and strong developmental opportunities within a family-owned Employer of Choice organisation.

About YOU 

• Safety focused with a commitment to our Safety 1st Always Works framework
• Previous experience in a shot firer role
• Hold a valid Tasmanian Shotfirer's licence (or ability to obtain)
• Strong understanding of blasting procedures and safety protocols 
• Possess a strong team mindset, with the ability to work flexibly to meet business requirements
• Hold a valid Australian drivers licence
• Hold a Responsible Workers Permit (or ability to obtain)
