About the Role

This is a newly created role, reflecting Metro's commitment to strengthening stakeholder engagement and community connections across Tasmania.

As our Communications and Stakeholder Partner, you will lead and coordinate stakeholder engagement and communications activities that support organisational priorities, service delivery outcomes and operational initiatives.

Working closely with leaders across the business, you will provide trusted advice on communication and engagement strategies, manage complex and sensitive stakeholder matters, prepare high-quality executive and ministerial correspondence, and help ensure Metro's voice is clear, consistent and effective.

This role offers variety, influence and purpose. From supporting service changes and community consultation activities to monitoring emerging issues and coordinating strategic communications, you'll help strengthen Metro's relationships and reputation while contributing to better outcomes for Tasmanians.

Skills, Experience and What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, community engagement or a related discipline within a complex organisation
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with experience preparing executive briefings, reports, presentations, correspondence and stakeholder communications
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver stakeholder engagement strategies and build trusted relationships across government, industry, community and organisational stakeholders
  • Experience managing sensitive issues, media enquiries or reputational matters with sound judgement and professionalism
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify emerging issues, assess risks and provide practical advice
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to influence, collaborate and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating communication and engagement activities to drive continuous improvement
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • A current driver's licence
