The Opportunity:

We are seeking multiple Fibreglass/composite technicians to join our Roxby Downs Team which predominantly services the BHP Olympic Dam Project. The opportunity is available for those with previous experience, located in Roxby Downs or open to working with a 3:1 FIFO roster.

The fibreglass technician is responsible for fabricating, installing, repairing, and maintaining composite structures such as pipes, flanges, tanks etc., focusing on safety, quality, and adherence to specification. This is an ongoing, long-term opportunity offered with site accommodation provided.

The Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining and organizing engineering documentation to ensure Maintaining a neat and tidy workshop area.

  • Ability to listen and adhere to instruction.

  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine job material and equipment requirements.

  • Preparing, sanding and finishing surfaces using solvents and/or mechanical means.

  • Safe use of hand tools and handheld power tools.

  • Laminating Fibreglass components.

  • Cleaning, waxing and preparing molds for use.

  • Painting the finish surfaces.

  • Understanding of all safety and quality WHS policies and procedures

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Formal qualifications and/or experience in plastics/composites

  • 1 year experience in the use of hand/power tools to measure and cut materials to required dimensions

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and take measurements

  • Working at Heights Tickets

  • Confined Space Tickets

  • EWP Ticket

  • Driver License
