About the Role
As the Food & Beverage Manager, you will play a key role in creating a rewarding experience (CARE) for both our guests and team members. You will lead all Food & Beverage operations, including the restaurant, bar, breakfast service, room service, mini bar, and conference & events spaces, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational excellence. You will be responsible for developing a high-performing team, driving guest satisfaction, achieving departmental targets, and fostering a culture that reflects Hilton's values and DoubleTree's Simply Welcoming service philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
Lead by example and role model DoubleTree's Simply Welcoming culture in every interaction.
Build, develop, coach, and inspire a high-performing Food & Beverage team.
Support team members in achieving individual and departmental goals through regular coaching and development.
Identify high-potential team members and champion career progression opportunities within Hilton.
Conduct performance reviews and ensure development plans are in place for all team members.
Partner closely with Human Resources to support recruitment, onboarding, training, succession planning, and retention initiatives.
Drive engagement initiatives and develop action plans to improve Global Team Member Survey (GTMS) results.
Facilitate regular departmental meetings, ensuring effective communication of business priorities, results, and achievements.
Maintain comprehensive onboarding and training programs to support continuous learning and development.
Actively participate as a member of the hotel's Senior Leadership Team.
Guest Experience
Deliver exceptional guest experiences through warm, genuine, and personalised service.
Ensure all team members are informed through daily briefings regarding guest needs, VIP arrivals, events, and operational priorities.
Actively resolve guest concerns and empower team members to confidently manage service recovery situations.
Monitor guest feedback through Stay Score, TripAdvisor, social media platforms, and other review channels to identify improvement opportunities.
Maintain strong product knowledge across all Food & Beverage offerings and encourage the same within the team.
Be visible and operationally hands-on during peak service periods.
Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Drive upselling opportunities and maximise revenue while delivering value to guests.
Undertake Journey Ambassador and Manager on Duty (MOD) shifts as required.
Operational Excellence
Oversee daily operations across all Food & Beverage outlets and event spaces.
Ensure departmental standards, Hilton brand requirements, and service procedures are consistently maintained.
Monitor shift reports and operational logbooks, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
Ensure teams have access to the necessary equipment, tools, and resources to deliver exceptional service.
Promote efficient communication between Food & Beverage and all other hotel departments.
Support hotel-wide initiatives, projects, and annual business objectives.
Workplace Health & Safety
Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments and ensure hazards are identified and controlled.
Manage workplace injuries and return-to-work programs in accordance with company policies.
Ensure team members receive appropriate training, instruction, supervision, and personal protective equipment where required.
Monitor contractor compliance and maintain the integrity of the hotel's WHS management system.
Take accountability for the health, safety, and wellbeing of team members within your area of responsibility.
Travel with Purpose
Promote Hilton's commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.
Support environmental initiatives and encourage team participation in sustainability programs.
Actively engage in community involvement activities and support Hilton's Travel with Purpose objectives.
What Are We Looking For?
Previous leadership experience in Food & Beverage operations within a hotel or hospitality environment.
Experience managing multiple Food & Beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, room service, and conference & events operations.
Proven ability to develop, motivate, and lead high-performing teams.
Strong guest service focus with a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.
Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive revenue and achieve departmental targets.
Experience monitoring guest feedback and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
Ability to work collaboratively within a senior leadership team.
Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and varying shifts as required.
