We are conveniently located near Hobart's CBD and famous waterfront, offering 242 hotel rooms and spacious apartments along with Stockmans Restaurant, the Baaa Bar, and a comprehensive range of meeting and event facilities. We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a facilities technician to join our team.

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Facilities Technician/Handyperson to join our team full-time, supporting the maintenance and presentation of two hotel properties in Hobart. Reporting to the Facilities Manager (Peter Churchill), this role is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, functional, and well-presented while delivering a high standard of service to internal teams and guests.

About you

  • Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager you will:
  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance across both hotel properties.
  • Undertake minor plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, carpentry, painting and air-conditioning troubleshooting within competency and licence limitations.
  • Escalate work requiring licensed tradespersons or specialist contractors.
  • Maintain painted surfaces, fixtures, fittings, and finishes in good condition.
  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure maintenance priorities are completed within required timeframes.
  • Accurately utilise maintenance reporting systems and complete follow-up actions.
  • Assist with room maintenance and refurbishment projects.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as directed.
  • Communications with other departments
  • Any leadership or team management experience will be advantageous.

The work hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 3:36 pm, but flexibility is essential as there might be urgent matters that require call-outs on a rotating roster.
