About the role


We are seeking a Full-time Land and Engineering Surveyor to join our team at Leary, Cox & Cripps Pty Ltd in Hobart, TAS 7000. In this key role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality surveying services across a diverse range of projects, including civil construction, infrastructure works, residential subdivisions, and cadastral surveys.


What you'll be doing


·       Conducting land and engineering surveys using the latest surveying equipment and technologies including GNSS, Total Stations, 3D Scanners and Drone

·       Collecting, processing, and analysing survey data to produce accurate maps, plans, and other deliverables

·       Establish and verify survey control networks and benchmarks

·       Prepare detailed survey plans and digital models for client and project team use

·       Liaising with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality surveying services

·       Ensure all survey activities comply with relevant standards, legislation, and project specifications

·       Adhere to workplace health and safety requirements and promote a strong safety culture on-site

·       Working as part of our team

·       Contributing to the continuous improvement of surveying processes and the development of new capabilities


What we're looking for


·       Tertiary qualification in Surveying or a related field

·       Minimum 2 years of experience as a Land and Engineering Surveyor in the construction industry will be considered as a positive, although not essential

·       Proficiency in using surveying instruments, such as total stations, GNSS, and laser scanners

·       Strong knowledge of survey techniques, data management, and computer-aided design (CAD) software

·       Ability to manage time effectively and work across multiple projects

·       Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to interpret and explain technical information

·       Proven problem-solving skills and a collaborative, adaptable approach to work

·       A valid driver’s license
