An exciting opportunity has arisen within the SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY Team for an enthusiastic and experienced person to join us in our Stay ChatTY Student Wellbeing Program, working as a Stay ChatTY Student Wellbeing Officer under the National Student Wellbeing Program in eligible Department for Education, Children and Young People schools. 

Student Wellbeing Officers will work with the School wellbeing and student support staff in schools to support the emotional wellbeing of students and the broader school community.  
 
Do you fit the bill? 

  • Do you hold a Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Youth Work, Mental Health, Pastoral Care, or a related field, with experience working with children and young people in school settings? 
  • Do you have demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and diverse communities, and to maintain strong school–community links? 
  • Do you have an understanding of child safe practices and the ability to comply with relevant legislation, including the Child Safe Organisations Act and the Reportable Conduct Scheme? 
  • Are you passionate about supporting youth mental health and wellbeing, and comfortable working as part of an interdisciplinary team? 
  • Do you have strong project management, communication, and organisational skills?

Hourly rate starting at $35.36 per hour
 
We have opportunities available to work with following schools:

  • Moonah Primary School (Base hours 4.5 hours per week. 6 hrs per week are available for the remainder of 2026)
  • Collinsvale Primary School (Base hours 4.5 hours per week. 6 hrs per week are available for the remainder of 2026)
  • Rosetta Primary School (Base hours 4.5 hours per week. 6 hrs per week are available for the remainder of 2026)
