ABOUT THE ROLE

Title: Disability Support Worker
Location: Hobart, Tasmania (and surrounding suburbs)
Salary: $34.58 - $37.73 per hour (Level 2) plus 25% casual loading, super, and salary packaging
Employment Type: Casual

We are looking for passionate Disability Support Workers to join our team and provide person-centred support to some of our amazing clients.

We are officially the largest provider of disability support services in Tasmania, so there is lots of flexibility to work across multiple services, and grow a career with us at Able Australia. As a causal, you will be able to work across multiple sites and meet a variety of wonderful clients whilst being supported by our passionate and experienced support workers.

In this role, you will be providing active support to clients within their home and their community to develop skills, independence, and friendships. You will be supporting and encouraging our clients to participate in a range of day-to-day activities based on their hobbies, interests and goals set within their NDIS support plans.

The role can be incredibly rewarding as you are an integral part of their journey towards 'Better Days, Every Day'.

Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:

Essential:

  • Minimum of 3 shifts a week availability. The roster includes a range of shifts, often including sleepovers.
  • Flexible to travel across Hobart. We are the largest provider of disability support services in Tasmania, so there is lots of flexibility to work across multiple services. Our ideal candidate is open to travelling to a few different locations across the Hobart region. We have services in: Old Beach, New Norfolk, Brighton, Midway Point, Glenorchy, with many in between.
  • Experience providing support to others: Disability, Aged Care, Community, or Allied Health
  • Intermediate computer skills (ie: using Microsoft Outlook, documentation in a client management tool/CRM, Carelink +).
  • Right to work in Australia
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check / willingness to obtain
  • Valid First Aid & CPR

Highly regarded and desirable:

  • A relevant qualification in Disability, Individual Support, Allied Health, Mental Health or working towards it.
  • Auslan skills, or a willingness to learn
  • A willingness to work across multiple locations, a wide range of environments, and a variety of clients.
  • Ability to travel to various locations including Sorrell, Eastern Shore, Bridgewater and New Norfolk
